Bakhodir Jalolov
Big Uzbek
Bio
Bakhodir Jalolov is the towering Uzbek heavyweight who arrives on the professional scene with a genuinely elite amateur pedigree. Two-time Olympic super-heavyweight gold medallist (Tokyo 2020, Paris 2024), three-time AIBA World Championships medallist, and one of the most decorated amateur heavyweights of his generation. At 6'7" and walking around close to 280lbs, he's the rare combination of size, athleticism, and amateur-level technical foundation.
The professional record of 15-0 with 14 KOs tells you what you need to know about how he's been used so far. Jalolov has been carefully matched against regional-tier and gatekeeper-level opposition, taking nearly all of them out inside the distance. The chopping right hook to the body, the long jab, and the sheer leverage of his frame give him an almost mechanical advantage that less-tested opponents simply can't deal with.
The May 9 fight against Croatia's Agron Smakici on the Wardley vs Dubois undercard at the Co-op Live Arena is Jalolov's UK debut and the highest-profile platform of his pro career. With Eddie Hearn handling his long-term promotional career and a one-off cross-promotional deal landing him on Frank Warren's biggest show of the year, Jalolov is being positioned for the kind of UK heavyweight runs that built Joe Joyce, Daniel Dubois, and Filip Hrgovic. Right then — the Olympic gold medallist is finally getting the eyeballs.
