Bio

Pryce Taylor is the Brooklyn-bred American heavyweight that the US heavyweight pipeline desperately wants to land properly. Six-foot-three-and-change of athletic, undefeated heavyweight, with eleven wins, eight knockouts, and the kind of boxing-first style that's a slight rarity for the New York heavyweight tradition. He's a boxer who can punch, not a puncher who can box.

Taylor's footwork is the standout. He moves better than most prospects his size, he's got a southpaw-friendly shoulder roll defence that suggests his coaching team have been studying the right tape, and his jab does a lot of his work in the early rounds before the right hand sets up the finish. Eight stoppages from eleven says he can crack — but he's also a fighter who is more comfortable winning a competitive round than going looking for the highlight reel.

The May 9, 2026 fight at Gateway Center Arena, Atlanta against veteran Calvin Barnett over 10 rounds is the biggest test of his professional career so far. Sat on the undercard of Angelo Leo v Ra'eese Aleem's IBF featherweight title fight on DAZN, this is the night the audience finds out if Pryce Taylor is a real American heavyweight prospect or a carefully matched record.
