Agit Kabayel
Bio
Right then, Agit Kabayel is the quietest heavyweight in the top ten and genuinely one of the most dangerous. The Bochum-born German of Kurdish heritage is unbeaten at 25-0 and has done something no other modern heavyweight has done — he stopped Arslanbek Makhmudov inside four rounds on the Riyadh card in December 2023, dropping him twice with body shots. He then followed it up by outboxing Frank Sanchez over twelve rounds.
Make no mistake, Kabayel is the body-puncher's body-puncher. Short, compact, patient, with educated footwork and a habit of drawing heavyweights into the phone booth and breaking them with liver shots. He starts slow — that's the knock on him — but by round five he is always ahead on the cards, and by round eight most opponents have decided they don't want to be there.
He's currently ranked in the WBC top five and is one of four named opponents in the contract clause attached to Hrgovic's May 16 Doncaster fight with Dave Allen. If you know, you know — Kabayel is the fight nobody in the top ten actually wants. Luke rates him.
