Bio

Austin 'Ammo' Williams is a southpaw middleweight from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who has been a fixture on Matchroom cards in the United States for years. A former amateur standout with real punching power in the left hand, he built a 20-fight winning stretch with a string of stoppages and became one of the more talked-about American names at 160.

Williams got his world title shot in March 2026 against Carlos Adames and came up short — a tough, competitive night that showed both his heart and the gap between contender and champion at the top level.

He returned quickly, taking on New Jersey's Vito Mielnicki Jr in the co-feature of Ruiz vs Knyba in Newark on September 4, 2026. Dropped heavily in the first round, Williams fought back gamely and had moments later on, but lost a shut-out unanimous decision, 98-91 on all three cards — his second straight defeat.

At 30 and 20-3, Williams remains a dangerous, live opponent for anybody at middleweight, but Luke's view is that he needs a couple of quieter wins to rebuild before another big night.
