Bilal Fawaz
The Silent Assassin
Bio
Bilal Fawaz is a story British boxing fans have rooted for for years. The Nigerian-born, London-raised southpaw amateur turned pro in his thirties after a long-running immigration battle, and has slowly carved out a domestic career on hard work and a phenomenal jab. He currently holds the British and Commonwealth super-welterweight titles after a memorable points win in 2025.
Stylistically Fawaz is a slick, tall, rangy boxer-puncher who prefers to control fights from distance with his jab and angles. He's not a big puncher — only four knockouts in 16 wins — but he's an awkward problem to solve and a difficult fighter to look good against. The British and Commonwealth straps are the rewards of years of being underrated.
On May 2 in Wolverhampton, Fawaz makes a defence of both belts against Birmingham banger Ryan Kelly on the chief support to Walker-Eggington. A clean win lands him in the European mandatory mix and possibly a shot at a fringe world contender by the end of 2026.
