Right then, Dave Allen is a proper cult figure in British heavyweight boxing. The Doncaster man has been round the block and back — domestic wars with Lucas Browne, Nick Webb, and David Price, a stoppage loss to Luis Ortiz back in 2019 that he took on four weeks' notice, and a self-imposed retirement that lasted nearly three years before he came back in 2022 on the Wood-Warrington undercard.
Make no mistake, Allen is levels better than the joke internet persona gives him credit for. He's a skilled pressure fighter with a decent jab and underrated head movement when he's in shape.
