Ebonie Cotton is a British bantamweight who represents the professional journeywoman route in women's boxing — the sort of genuine, honest fighter who takes tough assignments on short notice, works hard, and gives solid opponents proper rounds without ever embarrassing herself. The 29-year-old is 5-4 with a single stoppage and has mostly fought at regional level, picking her moments and pushing against the bigger names when offered the chance.

On April 18 at Rainton Meadows Arena she dropped a six-round unanimous decision to former IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges, scored 59-56 across all three cards. It was the biggest fight of her career by some distance and, although she didn't win rounds consistently, she did give Bridges moments in the middle rounds and took everything the Australian threw.
