Jared Anderson is an American heavyweight from Toledo, Ohio, who for several years was talked about as the man who would bring a world title back to the United States. Turned professional in 2019, he blew through his first seventeen opponents with the kind of easy, unhurried power that makes promoters lose their minds.

The reckoning came against Martin Bakole. Anderson walked in with only 56 professional rounds behind him and walked out having been dropped three times and stopped. It was the first serious step up of his career and it went badly in public, which in the modern sport means it went badly forever.
