Bio

Joseph 'JoJo' Diaz is a seasoned, two-weight world-level operator and a former IBF super featherweight champion out of South El Monte, California. A 2012 Olympian, he has spent the better part of a decade trading with the best in the lighter divisions.

Diaz's record reads 34-9-1, and the losses tell their own story — they came against elite names, in tough fights, on big stages. At his peak he was a slick southpaw with lovely combination punching and a real feel for range. That ring craft is the kind that ages well even as the legs slow down.

He has campaigned at featherweight, super featherweight and lightweight, holding a world title at 130lbs and challenging at 135. Now operating up at super lightweight, he is in the role of the dangerous, experienced gatekeeper — the man brought in to test the next generation.

Diaz meets unbeaten-at-home prospect Ashton 'H2O' Sylve on June 19 at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California, live on DAZN, in a 10-round super lightweight bout he intends to use to remind everyone he is far from finished.
