Oscar Collazo is the unified strawweight king and one of the most complete little men in the entire sport. Holder of the Ring, WBO and WBA titles at 105lbs, the unbeaten Puerto Rican southpaw is a regular fixture in pound-for-pound conversations — and rightly so.

Collazo punches far harder than a strawweight has any business doing, with 11 stoppages in 14 fights. He is technically gorgeous, he reads opponents beautifully, and when he hurts you he does not let you off the hook. There is nothing crude about his game; it is all timing, placement and ruthless finishing.

He won his WBO crown by stopping the excellent Melvin Jerusalem and has since added belts and beaten everyone put in front of him, often making elite contenders look ordinary. The ambition now is the undisputed crown at strawweight.

Collazo defends his unified titles against Filipino veteran Joey Canoy on June 20 at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California, live on DAZN. Another statement win keeps him barrelling towards a unification showdown.
