Bio

Michael 'Diesel' Eifert is the WBA mandatory challenger at light heavyweight and one of the best-conditioned operators in the division. The Düsseldorf-born German runs at 22-1 (8 KOs) with his only loss coming back in 2022 in a domestic tussle he has since avenged in the gym a dozen times over.

Eifert built his reputation on volume and conditioning. He trains three sessions a day starting at 6am — a punishing schedule that has earned him the nickname Diesel from his German fan base, a nod to the unrelenting engine that wears opponents down through the championship rounds.

The fight against Dmitry Bivol on May 30, 2026 at the UGMK-Arena in Yekaterinburg is the biggest of his career — WBA, IBF and WBO light heavyweight titles on the line against the long-reigning Russian champion returning from back surgery. Eifert has spent two years pushing for the shot. He finally has it.

Power is not his game — eight stoppages in twenty-three fights tells you everything. What Eifert brings is pressure, footwork that gets him into range, and the discipline to throw straight punches in fives and sixes round after round. If Bivol is anything less than 100 per cent off the layoff, the German is exactly the wrong man to be facing.
