Osleys Iglesias is the IBF super middleweight world champion and one of the most under-appreciated belt holders in the division. Thirteen wins, twelve stoppages, no defeats. The Cuban southpaw is technically polished, sharp on the counter and very, very heavy handed.
He picked up the vacant IBF belt last year on the back of a stoppage win over William Scull, and the politics of the division — plus the dominant presence of Canelo Alvarez — have kept his name quieter than the numbers deserve. Make no mistake, he is the kind of opponent a champion does not want late in a build-up.
The new noise around him is the Hamzah Sheeraz unification talk. Canelo Alvarez told the Mr. Verzace podcast in May 2026 he wants the two of them to fight each other before either gets a crack at him. On paper, it is a brilliant fight — the Cuban movement versus the British size and pressure. If it gets signed, Iglesias is the underdog for the casual British market but the live dog for anyone who has watched the tapes.
