Rafael Espinoza is a Mexican featherweight and one of the most physically peculiar fighters in world boxing. He stands well over six feet at 126 pounds, which is not supposed to be possible, and it makes him a nightmare of angles and range for anyone in the division.

Unbeaten as a professional, Espinoza won his world title as a heavy underdog and has since defended it with the sort of unhurried, spiteful body work that Mexican featherweights are supposed to have. The height is the headline, but the finishing instinct is the real weapon.

In September 2026 Naoya Inoue named him as one of the two featherweights who most interest him as a potential opponent, citing his unusual rhythm and angles. That is about the highest compliment available in the sport.
