Right, Zurdo Ramirez is the most underrated Mexican fighter of his generation, and you'll never convince me otherwise. The southpaw from Mazatlán was the first Mexican WBO super middleweight world champion when he took the belt off Arthur Abraham in 2016, and he's built steadily ever since. A technical boxer in a country that traditionally churns out crowd-pleasers, Ramirez has always been a bit of an acquired taste for the Mexican public — but the boxing people have known for years how good he is.

He moved up to cruiserweight in 2022 and has since unified the WBA and WBO belts at 200 pounds, becoming Mexico's first cruiserweight world champion. He beat Arsen Goulamirian for the WBA title in 2024 and Chris Billam-Smith for the WBO in 2025. He's 6'3", educated, and his straight left hand is arguably the cleanest punch in the division. Make no mistake — this is a proper world champion, and he's walked into the most dangerous fight of his career against David Benavidez in May as the tall, technical gatekeeper trying to keep his title.
