Jacob Bank is the unbeaten Danish super middleweight who has become one of the most talked-about contenders at 168lbs in 2026. Born in February 2001, he has built a proper following back home in Denmark.
He won the WBO Global title in 2024, stopped a former world champion in the twelfth and final round in January 2026, and then knocked out his opponent in five rounds in a WBC eliminator in April. Quick feet, a sharp jab and good movement are the basics of his game.
When the WBO reinstated Janibek Alimkhanuly at the top of its rankings after a doping suspension, Bank was among the loudest critics, arguing it cheated active contenders.
In September 2026, after Hamzah Sheeraz vacated, the WBO ordered Bank to fight Janibek for the vacant super middleweight title, with 15 days to agree terms before purse bids.
Right then — it is a huge step up. Make no mistake though, he is taking the fight others have avoided, and that deserves respect.
