Nikita Tszyu
The Butcher
Bio
Right then, Nikita Tszyu. The younger brother of Tim and the second son of the great Kostya Tszyu, but make no mistake — he's not riding anyone's coat-tails. Nikita took the long road into professional boxing, started later than his brother, and has built his entire career through nasty, body-cracking pressure work that earned him his ring name: the Butcher. Twelve fights, twelve wins, nine knockouts, and a regional title under his belt.
What makes Nikita interesting is the style. He doesn't move like Tim. He's bigger at the natural weight, longer in the reach, and his preferred work happens when his opponent's back is to the ropes. He fights in close, ribs and liver, with a left hook to the body that's already accounted for half a dozen finishes. The defence is rougher than Tim's was at the same age, but the engine is enormous and the chin has held up under proper grown-man pressure.
The setbacks have been minor but instructive. The January 2026 no-contest with Michael Zerafa was a strange night that left more questions than answers, and there were some who wondered whether the rise had stalled. The Newcastle Entertainment Centre on May 6, 2026 — a sixth-round retirement of Oscar Diaz for the vacant WBO International strap — was the answer. Levels above a credible undefeated opponent, with a measured, professional finish.
If you know, you know — Nikita is a legitimate top-fifteen super welterweight at twelve fights deep. The frame can carry up to middleweight if needed, and the body work translates to any weight class. Australia has produced quietly competitive fighters at 154 for a generation, and Nikita is the most exciting of them right now. A meaningful European or American test is the natural next step.
Personally, I'd match him with a top-fifteen contender by August or September, then push him into a world title eliminator by early 2027. The Butcher has the engine, the chin, and the family name. He's earned the right to be tested.
