Sam Noakes is the hardest-hitting lightweight in Britain, and it is not particularly close. The Maidstone man has stopped sixteen of his eighteen victims, and when he touches the body clean, fights tend to end whether the other man agrees or not.

Noakes did it the traditional way — English title, Commonwealth, British, European — flattening almost everyone put in front of him. His single defeat came in a genuine thriller against Abdullah Mason for the vacant WBO lightweight title in November 2025, a fight that proved he belongs at world level even in defeat.

Rebuilt after a routine win in May, Noakes returns on the biggest stage of all — the Itauma vs Hrgovic undercard at the O2 on August 29, 2026, against former WBO champion Denys Berinchyk. Win that, and he is one fight from another world title shot. Proper fighter, proper trajectory.
