Chelli won by 10th-round TKO. Make no mistake — this is the British boxing upset of the year so far, and on a calendar that already has Walsh-Conlan and Gwynne-Majid on it, that's saying something.
The takeaway: Chelli is now in the British 175 picture for real, and the WBA were already eyeing him for a world ranking before this weekend. He fights for a world title in 2026. Morrell, on the other hand, has a rebuild on his hands.
Atlanta — Oberlton Salvages A Card
The Atlanta story was the Aleem weight miss. Ra'eese Aleem came in three pounds heavy for his IBF featherweight defence against Angelo Leo, the title was off the line, and the broadcast scrambled to upgrade Atif Oberlton vs Carlos Gongora at light-heavy to the main event. Oberlton obliged with a clean stoppage and announced himself on the global 175 stage.
The takeaway: Oberlton is the under-the-radar 175 prospect of 2026 and the IBF need to do something about Aleem. There is an argument the IBF should rip the belt and order a final eliminator. Don't bet on it. Sanctioning bodies don't move that fast.
