Right then. Lucas Roehrig is one of those names the proper British fight fans have had on their radar for a while, and now everybody else is about to catch up. The London cruiserweight is 23, unbeaten in nine, with five of those wins inside the distance, and in September 2026 he signed a promotional deal with Zuffa Boxing to fight on Sky Sports.

He announced himself early. Roehrig made his professional debut in 2024 and stopped a former English champion in three rounds, which is not the sort of opponent most prospects see in their first fight. Last year he shut out an American prospect over six rounds, and his last two outings were back-to-back stoppages at York Hall. He has boxed on the big shows and on the small halls, and he has not skipped a step.

In his corner is former super middleweight world champion George Groves, who trains and guides him. That is a serious endorsement. Groves knows exactly what world level looks like and he has not been shy about telling the truth about other young fighters this year.

Roehrig joins a Zuffa cruiserweight stable that already includes Jai Opetaia and Chris Billam-Smith. He has said he wants world titles and is ready to take risks against other unbeaten prospects. Make no mistake, that is the right attitude. His next fight is on November 7 at the Copper Box Arena.
