That alone makes this fight week different to anything else on the calendar. Stopping him is the test. Azim has not been twelve rounds yet. This is a chance to either prove he can deal with a man who refuses to fold, or to put a notable scalp on the ledger inside the distance and accelerate the world title talks.

The Wider Picture — Azim Versus The Division

Let's not beat around the bush. The 140 division is properly stacked in 2026. Devin Haney is at 147 now but the weight he made his name at is still where the cleanest fights live. Arnold Barboza Jr. sits as IBF mandatory, Regis Prograis is finally healthy and back in the mix. Azim is being lined up for a top ten ranking by year end and a world title shot in 2027.

Beat Claggett well — ideally on the cards or with a late stoppage of a man who has never been stopped — and the negotiations start. Beat him scrappy or struggle for ten rounds and the BOXXER team have a longer route to take.

The Undercard Is Worth Showing Up Early For

Francesca Hennessy defends her WBC Silver Bantamweight title against Aurora De Persio, IBO Cruiserweight champion Juergen Uldedaj is in with Muhsin Cason in a proper hard man's fight, Joel Kodua's English Welterweight title is on the line against Will Harrison. It is a smart small hall card with a free-to-air audience that BOXXER understand.

Prediction Watch

I make it Azim by stoppage, rounds nine through eleven. Claggett does not get stopped easily, but Azim is faster, sharper, and stiffer with both hands than anyone Steve has been in with since the Hiraoka night. The body work breaks the Canadian down across thirty minutes and a McGuigan-corner shot in the last third closes the show. If Adam can't get him out of there, that is a story in itself and a flag for the world title build-up. Either way, it is a brilliant Saturday afternoon on BBC Two and exactly the type of platform British boxing needs more of.
